Scene Design

Developing a design vocabulary that supports the overall production concept in total collaboration with artistic and technical colleagues.

I am both a studio artist and a practitioner of theatre design, management and technology.  This diverse set of abilities and experiences enables me to create aesthetically appropriate work within realistic budgets and in many levels of technical sophistication.  I have a particular expertise working with theatre for young audiences through educational experiences and 20 years as a producer and director of a professional summer theatre for young audiences.  Designed over 250 productions of theatre, musical theatre, opera and dance in a variety of professional and academic venues.  In the studio I work primarily in oil and acrylic and works are available for purchase.

An experienced painter, mask maker, props artisan and puppet maker.  Equally comfortable with traditional methods and new materials.

Scene Design experience in a  variety of styles and genres.  Creating an aesthetic solution within reasonable budgets and on schedule.
